Runaway Becomes a Victim of Human Sex Trafficking

After a 20-year-old ran away from an Egg Harbor City drug rehabilitation house with two other women, her family started to assume that their daughter might be dead. Michelle Kaighn, the mother of the missing 20-year-old said that her daughter suddenly stopped answering phone calls around mid October. The three women found themselves at a Circle K gas station in Atlantic City, there they met El Joshua, a 36 year old man, who allegedly offered the girls food and drugs. The women say that Joshua forced them into prostitution. Joshua was arrested on Feb. 21 on charges of human trafficking. This case is an example of how traffickers prey on areas like Atlantic City and take advantage of vulnerable victims.
